Yes, you probably annoy me.
Afro-Centrists
Why you annoy me:
- You believe history
is a tool to glorify a particular group, in this case a particular race.
History is not subjective, it’s a science. Lying about historical events,
even if you feel the cause is good, is wrong.
- You make ludicrous
claims, such as claiming that Greeks stole philosophy from Nubian blacks.
One of your main intellectual supporters claimed that Aristotle stole black
authored books from the library of Alexandria and passed them off as his
own. One problem: Aristotle was dead decades before the Library was built…
and the small fact that you have zero evidence to back that up.
- Other ludicrous
claims include (but not limited to)… Cleopatra being a black woman. Sorry
she was Greek/Macedonian. Your evidence is the identity of one of her
maternal great-grandmothers is unknown. Even IF that unknown woman was
black, of which is there no evidence you just assume, would that really make
her black since we know everyone else on her family tree is Greek?
- You claim Socrates
was black due to a description of his appearance as having “short, black
curly hair.” I suppose you won’t be able to find a single person in Greece
today with that description, right? Annoying and asinine.
- You claim all
ancient Egyptians were black. While many were, especially in southern/upper
Egypt, they were a very mixed society. It’s fair to characterize them as a
mostly Semitic people with a very large black minority population, however,
with political power being distributed in a non-racial way.
- You claim Hannibal
and all the Carthaginians were black. Ignoring for a second that residents
of Carthage were from Phoenicia in the Middle East and a Semitic people, the
native inhabitants of North Africa were Berbers, who are not black; so any
claim that “well the original Phoenicians bred with native blacks…” is
tossed out as well. Despite your claims to the contrary, Africa was and is
a multi-racial continent. This all stems from a deep desire to have
historical heroes. For some reason, rather than exalt the historical heroes
that were black Africans, you choose to co-opt heroes of other races as your
own. Why?
- Any attempt, using
good, well documented and logical history, to prove you wrong are met with
cries of racism. Bigotry is horrible, but so is crying wolf about it. If
your theories are accurate and hold water you wouldn’t need to claim racism,
would you?
- The majority of your
theories are based on taking Herodotus out of context or too literally,
depending on how the interpretation fits your pre-concluded theory.
Herodotus is regarded as the “Father of Lies” by most historians for a
reason, and it isn’t because things he says can be considered airtight
historical inquiry.
-
Afro-centrism is not only anti-historical it is also
antiscientific--denying genetic, archaeological, linguistic, and other forms
of data.
- You demand equal
educational time for your theories. Where have we heard that before?
- You actually hurt
the black community by teaching lies. There is a lot of black African
history to be proud of, and a lot of heroes to look up to in that history,
yet you teach black children to be jealous of Mediterranean history.
Possible mitigating factors:
- Despite having a
remarkable amount of things in common, you are still less annoying than
Creationists, mostly due to being a much smaller group.
- Watching a
classically trained historian, like Lefkowitz, destroy your absurd theories
in brilliant scholarly fashion is amazingly entertaining.
- While more annoying
to me personally, you aren't as dangerous to the world as Holocaust Deniers.
